In The Eyes Of The Mythians....
- On the Island of Mythia there is no social ladder to climb.
- In the eyes of the Mythian's .. All Mythians are at the top and ALL humans are beneath them.
- Classes based on wealth and status do not exist on the island. It doesn't matter if the human was the daughter or son of an Emperor, they are still below all Mythians.
In The Eyes of the HUMANS....
- All citizens and Mythians are equal
- In the eyes of the humans.. those that are free are better than those that are not
- Slaves are the ones in the lowest position.
Simple right?
Not Quite....
The Elder Councils believes that the best way to gain the humans affection is to treat them as equals. Allowing them the little luxuries they had before such as slaves. So when dealing with the humans the do their best to hide the fact they think that the humans are below them.
Not all are good at hiding that.... Especially those that follow the Remnant Council.
The Remnant Council wants to enslave ALL humans and be done with it. They tend to be more straight forward with their views.
Just like in every society people take on different views.. so more extreme them others. All Mythians agree that humans are beneath them..its how they handle the humans is the difference.

SEGREGATION AMONG MYTHIANS
The clear separation among Mythians is the two different councils. This once Utopian Society did not argue or disagree but as human influence came about on the island the peace and harmony didn't last.

Humans
Humans that are citizens feel they are equal to the Mythians
They know that some of the Mythians do not believe they are equal but for the most part the humans think only a small group of Mythians feel that way.
When humans arrive on the island as citizens that are told that their previous social status means nothing on the island. They are warned that if they try and assert social status for themselves above other citizens they will be turned into a slaver as a slave.
Some of the human citizens have a hard time with the freedoms the slaves are giving on the island. They treat the slaves as they did back in the human world. The Mythians do not stop the human citizens from acting this way. In fact they find humor in the fact that humans separate themselves in such a manner.

Why Are There No Social Classes?
The Mythians had heard the stories about those with wealth and success being better than those without. Over the years humans from all different classes arrived on the island. Once they acclimated themselves to their new life, they wanted to regain the status they had had in their old countries.
For example:
The Roman Patrician didn't want to work. They wanted the slaves to do everything while that sat around and enjoyed life.
At first the Mythians allowed this. The humans were observed in how the separated themselves from one another and how they treated those thought to be below them.
It amused the Mythians at first to see how horrible the "upper class" would treat their own kind. The Mythians watched as status was not only determined by wealth but where the person came from. The Mythians themselves started to mingle with the "Upper Class" humans. They allowed themselves to be cruel to those the humans had deemed not worthy.
It wasn't until the Humans started separating the Mythians. Determining which Mythians were at the same social statusas the "upper class" and which were Mythians were below them. As the problem started to get out of control. The two councils came together and agreed that this should be done away with.
The "upper class" humans were rounded up and forced into slavery. Those that tried to take their place claiming a higher status found themselves as slaves as well. The Mythians did this till the humans humbled themselves.
Humans that had high status in the human world learn on arrival that they no longer hold that status. If they try and assert themselves in this manner, the human find themselves as a slave. This includes stating your previous position or treating another citizen or Mythian as a lower status then yourself.
