LAW AND ORDER
The Elder Council still holds most of the control over the island. Their council makes and enforces the laws. The Remnant Council may not have complete control, but they do have control of certain aspects of the island such as the Island slaves. This helped balance some of the control however the Remnants still waited for their chance to gain control.
The Lion Guard made sure all laws within the Town and Village were enforced. Basic laws such as stealing, murder or kidnapping were not allowed. If committed within the limits of the town and village, the guilty would be forced to either serve time in slavery or given the opportunity to earn their freedom by running the Maze. On occasion if the crimes were too foul the person or person would be banished, thrown into a pit to never be seen again.
Outside the Town and Village, the areas remained lawless. Kidnapping, stealing and even just violence is a common thing in those places. Those taken captive can be made a private slave for a time and even brought into the Town and Village if registered properly.

Overturning Laws
The current ruling party of Mythia is the Elder Council. This council can make laws that cover the entirety of the island as well as remove laws.
The Remnant council has control over the village (they can be overturned by the Elders, but this is a rare thing) and can only overturn any laws in the Village as well as make laws for the Village.
All citizens and Mythians can petition the leaders in their area to make new laws or remove laws.

WHO DETERMINES THE PUNISHMENT?
To enforce the laws punishments for the crimes were created.
The Council over the Area in which the crime was committed determined the punishment for the different crimes.
Remnant oversees the Village
Elder Council oversees the Town
In cases such as murder or extreme crimes both councils decided the fate of the accused.
The Governors, Harbor Master, and Slaver are often asked to speak for or against of the accused.

THE MAIN FORM OF PUNISHMENT
In order to enforce the laws, punishments were created. Each Council determines the punishment for various crimes for their respective areas.
The Elder Council oversees the Town and the Remnant Council oversees the Village. In cases of murder or extreme crimes, both Councils would decide the fate of the accused.
The respective Governors, Harbor Master, and Custos are often asked to speak at such trials.
The main form of punishment on the island is Captivus, or a form of forced slavery. The overseeing Council determines the guilt and the time that a person will serve as Captiva. The Council will also determine if a person becomes an island or gladiator Captiva. (Players choose the role).

ESCAPING CAPTIVUS
Once a person has been found guilty, a sentence of being a Captivus is handed out. The Guilty Person will get a chance to escape this punishment. Once per month, a Maze Run will be held. The guilty will get the opportunity to run the Maze. If the person finds the exit that leads to freedom, their crimes will be forgotten, and they will once again be free. Those that are captured have this option as well.
Waiting for the Maze Run....
For those guilty that are waiting on a maze run to take place, they will be able to go about their normal day but under guard. If they try and lose their guard or commit another crime during this waiting period, they can lose their chance to run the maze and be forced directly into Captivus.
The guilty will be placed in collars and bracers when they stand trial. These will limit their use of powers.

OTHER FORMS OF PUNISHMENTS
The Council may choose other forms of punishment (Players can request this if they oppose being made a slave). These punishments can be anything from being whipped, chained in public, loss of a business or job. It may involve being assigned an unpleasant job to work. (the job no one wants.) The councils will choose what punishment will be.
NOTE: Limits will be respected however this does not mean that your character will escape some sort of punishment. (See Links below *Sim Rules)
Only those given the punishment of Captivus will get the chance to earn their freedom back. Those with different punishments will serve out their sentences.

EXILE AND PERMANENT CAPTIVITY
For extreme cases such as the murder of another character, the player may face death or permanent exile.
PERMANENT CAPTIVUS
The Mythians do not keep the criminals or captured permanently. Once the person has completed their sentence they are set free.
These Punishments are rarely used in roleplay except in extreme circumstances. An admin must approve it before it happens. If we have to remove players from the sim, one of the punishments will be used where their character goes. NPC and ALTS may be put to death in character for roleplay events.
EXILE
Exile is a hidden place on the island that is hidden removes the person from society.
This form of punishment is in place of a character's death.
DEATH
Death for a character is a last resort. In order for a death to take place even with consent, an admin needs to be notified prior to the action.

The maze in Mythia is hidden in the caverns below the town. Those that run the maze have been found guilty of crimes and seek their freedom. The maze is a capture zone unless a maze run is taking place. Those watching the maze race safe during that time.
HOW DOES THE MAZE WORK?
Volunteers (Mythians or Humans) will act as captors during the Maze Run Event. Their job will be to try and capture the guilty and detain them. The guilty will be allowed to fight back and if they overpower their captor they may continue to run. If the captor is victorious in the struggle, he/she may keep the guilty as payment for participating in the maze run. (See Links below under Capture rules to see time length) The accused will then be returned to the Custos to finish out their sentence.
The objective for the maze is to escape through the door that leads to freedom. There are four exits of the maze, however only one of them leads to freedom.
The Exit doors of the Maze
Those that find themselves in one of the Councils’ areas will be given the chance to plead their case one last time. If they are not successful, then they will be returned to the Custos.

From the first tribe of Mythia, life was a gift. The Mythians lived in a Utopia in which everyone worked harmoniously together. Rules and Laws were not needed. The Mythians all worked together, each doing their own share. Perhaps it was the magic of the island that helped keep the negative elements away.
The only concept of the Mythian world that resembled a law was the idea that everyone did their share. If a Mythian was found not doing his/her share on the island they were forced into working. The Mythian became an indentured servant until they made up the work they had missed. This was the closest thing to Captivus.
The Mythian Council was in place to make sure all were working, and the island was peaceful and safe. That all changed when man arrived on the Mythian shores ended the Utopian society. As more humans arrived, violence and crimes began to rise. The once peaceful Mythians found themselves annoyed and hating the humans. This directly led to the creation of the lawless areas on the island.
WHY NOT DEATH?
Mythians believe the greatest gift is life and should be treasured. After the war when so many of them died, the Mythians turned their focus in repopulating the island. Both Councils agreed that killing another was something they didn't want to do.
